Representatives of BGS Rail took part in one of the largest international forums of infrastructure and transport in Ukraine MINTRANS. The forum was held on October 5 and brought together all participants in the infrastructure and transport industry.
The Mintrans Expo 2020 exhibition brought together representatives of the legislative branch of Ukraine, such as the Head of the Railway Transport Committee of the Supreme Council of Ukraine – Oleksandr Skichko, the Head of the Board of UZ – Volodymyr Zhmak and Irakli Ezugbaia, as well as the largest shippers such as KERNEL and UNIGRAN, representatives of the sea and port sectors – Transinvestservice, Administration of Ukrainian Seaports, railcar operators – including Lemtrans and BGS Rail, as well as several non-governmental organizations.
During the forum, UZ announced its intention to consider pilot infrastructure projects.
The greatest excitement was caused by the speech of the new director for logistics and cargo of Ukrzaliznytsia, Irakly Ezugbaia. He announced his willingness to cooperate with shippers in pilot projects that include not only the liberalization of traction, but also the development of the whole infrastructure. He also announced the introduction of a new single logistics tariff for transportation.
BGS Rail representatives noted that the basis for building a competitive rail logistics market should be the adoption of sectoral laws, as well as pragmatism and freedom in the formation of tariff policy for cargo transportation and management of the car fleet.
